Bridging the Distance: Quilting Connections

During the pandemic, Guild residents faced the challenge of being separated from their loved ones and caregivers. Virtual communication became a lifeline for staying connected. However, traditional Zoom calls may not always be the most effective way for non-speaking individuals to connect with their parents. This led to the exploration of alternative methods to foster meaningful connections. Read more about our Quilting Connections project here.

ADA Act Anniversary and Disability Pride Month

This month marked the 34th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. This important civil rights law prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life.

July is also Disability Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history, culture, and contributions of people with disabilities. It also recognizes their achievements, experiences, and struggles, and the strength and resilience of those who have overcome societal barriers.
