It is that time of year once again. Dubbed "a town-wide theme party you won't forget," the town of Rock Hall is hosting its 16th Annual Pirates & Wenches Weekend – and the fun starts now.
Similar to the yearly Third and Fourth of July celebrations, Pirates & Wenches has become a summer hallmark for our community, attracting thousands to our area's numerous marinas, restaurants and inns for a truly unique getaway experience.
Tonight kicks off the weekend-long festivities (of which Haven Harbour Marina Resorts is a proud platinum sponsor) with cannon fire, rum tasting, ghost tour, sea shanty sing-along and more.
The festive activities continue all day tomorrow with a decorated dinghy parade, pirate poker run, costume contests, Buccaneer's Ball, kids treasure dig, as well as music, merriment and scavenger hunt on Main Street.
Other events hosted Sunday and throughout the weekend include vehicle parade, pirate performers, grub and grog, live music and souvenir merchandise.
As a reminder, we are hosting this year's Rum Tasting. The event happens this evening from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Haven Harbour South's Admirals Beachside Bar. Admission to the event is $30.00 (plus fees), entitling guests to tastings, light appetizers and live music.
