Construction Update

July 11, 2024

Upcoming Activities

As early as Saturday, July 13 lasting through Sunday, July 14, crews will shift traffic to the new outside bridge sections. This work will take place both during the day and overnight.

Motorists should be prepared for new traffic patterns, traffic delays, and reduce their speed within the work zone. Traffic will remain in this configuration through the end of the construction project.

Once the traffic shift has been completed, the center section of the old Jordan River Bridge will be removed.

Traffic accessing the River Oaks Driving Range may only access the parking lot from eastbound 9000 South. Westbound traffic may only make a U-turn at 1300 West. See the detour map.

As early as Monday, July 15 through Wednesday, July 17, crews will complete water line work at 1150 West 9000 South.

Residents on 1150 West should expect delays entering/exiting the neighborhood while crews place metal plates allowing traffic to cross.

Overnight Tuesday, July 16 at 10:00 p.m. through Wednesday, July 17 at 6:00 a.m., crews will complete the water line work requiring a water service interruption. Affected property owners will be notified.

Ongoing Activities

Crews continue installing storm drain and excavating the roadway along the southside of 9000 South along the entire corridor requiring short-term driveway interruptions. Follow posted detour signs for alternate driveway accesses.

Crews continue work along the side of the roadway, in shoulder areas, and on sidewalks throughout the corridor. Please use caution and follow posted signs.

Safety Message

Do not enter the work zone! Crews are excavating along the south side of 9000 South and we do not want any motorists to find their way off the 2-foot drop.

Pedestrians and bicycles are not allowed on 9000 South over the Jordan River. Please see the approved detour route for pedestrians and bicycles.

35 MPH sign

As a reminder, the speed limit has been reduced to 35 miles per hour along the entire corridor.
