The Food Day Fair kicked off later in the afternoon, at 2 p.m. in the E-Building Atrium. Hosted by Nutrition and Culinary students, the fair featured games, giveaways, and healthy snacks prepared by the students. Attendees were encouraged to bring donations of non-perishable food and winter clothing for distribution to students in need through LaGuardia CARES

LAGUARDIA AND WAGNER ARCHIVES

Reflecting on the "Keep New York Wet" Campaign After One of the City's Driest Months on Record

After the month of October passed without any rain — making it one of the driest months on record Mayor Adams put out a video telling New Yorkers to conserve water by taking actions like turning off the faucet while brushing their teeth. This message sounded very familiar to us here at the Archives, and we dug up a very similar PSA from the Koch administration that you can view here. Full of authentic New York accents and tough New York kids, this is one of our favorite pieces of the Koch collection. Knowing about history is crucial for helping see how the present parallels the past!
