TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: From Monday, October 28, through Friday, November 1, Interstate 89 (I-89) will be reduced to a single lane in both directions near Exit 17 during off-peak hours: 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. on I-89 northbound and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on I-89 southbound throughout the week.
The I-89 northbound off-ramp slip lane to U.S. Route 2 (U.S. 2) westbound will be closed until the winter shutdown for bridge construction. Motorists can turn right or left onto U.S. 2 at the signalized intersection.
The U.S. 2 eastbound slip lane to the I-89 southbound on-ramp is now open. U.S. 2 between Jasper Mine Road and U.S. Route 7 (U.S. 7) will have lane shifts and possible intermittent single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic managed by flaggers between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
U.S. 7 between the Shell Gas Station and Wiley Road will have intermittent single-lane closures with alternating one-way traffic managed by flaggers throughout the week between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Motorists should slow down, use caution, and pay attention to road signage and line striping while traveling through the work zone.
