Updates from the Pathways to Generosity

We are thrilled to share the incredible progress we’ve made so far in our Pathways to Generosity journey! Thanks to your faithfulness and commitment, we have exciting news to celebrate:

  • 19 Estimate of Giving (EOG) cards were given by first time givers or returning givers, reflecting fresh participation in this season of growth.

  • The average EOG amount increased by $700, showing a remarkable rise in generosity across our church family.

By our estimations, if EOGs continue to come in strong, we anticipate a $100,000 increase from last year’s total—bringing us incredibly close to $1 million pledged to support the mission and ministry of Front Street United Methodist Church!

If you haven’t yet submitted your Estimate of Giving, now is the perfect time to join this incredible movement of generosity. Your participation not only strengthens our church but also brings joy and fulfillment as we all work together to impact lives and serve our community. How? Because your generosity creates opportunities for you and others to love like Jesus loves. Because of you our ministries will thrive and grow!

We look forward to sharing another exciting update soon. Be part of the celebration by turning in your EOG card as we continue to grow together in generosity!

With gratitude,

Ray Warren and Stephan Margeson

Why? So That...

-a sermon series

Sundays November 10-24

We are coming to the end of the year. Not just the calendar year, but the Christian year. It starts over in Advent! “Why?” you ask? In this last series of the year we will be answering just that. Why? So that… we worship, we change, we go. In this final series we will wrestle with how to move from our “Why” questions and journey forward with purpose and direction.

Circles 2 and 3 will meet on Monday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel. Afterward, Circle 2 will move to the Reading Area, and Circle 3 to Room 402.

Circle 5 will meet on Tuesday, November 12, at 7:00 p.m. in the Heritage Center to discuss Christmas Cheer and other holiday charity needs.

Don't forget to return your UNSEALED thank you notes for Eastlawn teachers to your circle chairs at this meeting.

Front Street's Market for Missions is quickly approaching. Circle 2 will be helping with initial set-up for the event.

Every year we put together an Advent Devotional for daily use as we walk through the season of Advent toward Christmas. Would you like to be a part of this venture?

What is involved?

1. To begin, please select a theme about which you have a story to share from the list below.

  • A time when you felt a sense of longing. (Week 1)
  •  A time when you had to wait for something important. (Week 2)
  • A time when you experienced simplicity in life. (Week 3)
  • A time when you felt humility or saw humility in others. (Week 4)

2. Now select and sign up for a scripture in the week of the theme you have chosen.

3. Compose your devotion (250-300 words) using the provided guidelines by November 10.

Advent Wreath Workshop

Make an Advent wreath to enjoy this Advent season. There will be activities for kids and families, as well as food and fellowship. Advent devotional materials will be available to take with you. Everyone is welcome to join us for this event. All materials are provided, and there is no cost to attend.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I am not sure what else to say. This past Sunday our youth and leaders descended on the ministry center and packaged 134 UMCOR flood buckets/cleanup kits, with the other 16 of our 150 goal just missing a few items. I am so proud of our church and our friends. There are too many to name but know that the people in Western North Carolina are grateful and our contributions will be impactful. 140 completed buckets were picked up yesterday and are on their way to help our neighbors in Western NC.

See today's Chris' Corner for a round up of all youth news.
