Happy Friday Miramonte Families,
Thank you to everyone who attended our Parents' Club meeting on Wednesday. We are grateful to our senior students- Emma W, Ava M, and Zoe S- for their impressive and deeply important work on student burnout—a subject that impacts us all. Their research sparked engaging conversations about how we must work together to better advocate for our students' well-being. They illuminated the pervasive issue of burnout being fueled by a variety of stressors including academic workloads, AP class expectations, sports commitments, college and family pressures, lack of sleep, and social demands and shared valuable recommendations for navigating them. The most important they found to be the open communication between parents and their student. For anyone looking to deepen their understanding on this topic, they shared two thoughtful book recommendations as well- ‘The Price of Privilege’ by Madeline Levine, Ph.D. and ‘Never Enough’ by Jennifer Breheny Wallace. It’s clear that we must work together as a community to advocate for our students’ and increase the awareness around burnout and mental health. A special thank you to Principal Campopiano as well for sharing our Challenge Success data, which added meaningful context to the students’ presentation and reflected similar trends. These are vital conversations and we look forward to continuing this work together.
Finally, congratulations to our sports teams on making it to the finals! We’re incredibly proud of their hard work and dedication. GO MATS!!
Stay up to date with all Parents' Club activities by visiting our website. As always, please reach out with any questions or concerns.
Warmly,
Christina Linezo

ONE-Miramonte Fundraising
All students benefit from the academic classes and programs donations to ONE-Miramonte help fund. Every class receives some supplemental funding through our budget that is used to buy needed supplies and materials. Imagine Chemistry without lab supplies, Foods without ingredients, Art without paint — that is the reality our students would face if Miramonte parents did not step up and provide supplemental funding through donations to ONE-Miramonte! Additionally, our students benefit from smaller class sizes than those in surrounding districts because of the financial support our community provides.
Donations are down at our school this year. To date, only 42% of Miramonte families have made a donation of any size to ONE-Miramonte. Last year at this time, close to half of all families had made a gift. We aim for 100% family participation because all students benefit. Miramonte is an exceptional high school worthy of our support.

We are currently hosting a canned food drive on campus and online that will run until Friday, November 22. For those who want to participate, there will be boxes in every fourth-period class that you can put canned food into, and the 4th-period class with the most cans wins a donut party! For those who donate online, you can print out the confirmation of your donation and give it to your child to place in their classroom bin.
All of these donations will go to the Contra Costa Food Bank; one dollar provides two meals, so all donations are greatly appreciated!! The link for online donations is below. DONATE HERE!
