Monday Memo

October 21, 2024

Note from School Leaders

Dear Rising Tide Students and Families,

Thanks to the students, families, alumni, and staff members who supported our student athletes during Homecoming this past weekend.

We hope to see many Middle School parents/guardians/caregivers next Tuesday morning for our traditional Muffins in the Morning event. Thanks to the Rising Tide Parent Group for coordinating this special event.

The Rising Tide Student Directory is now available through the Community Portal. We know that the Rising Tide Parent Group is excited to have access to contact information for other families in our school community as they work to bring people together and build community. The Student Directory is property of Rising Tide and should not be shared outside of the school community. The directory includes options to filter and sort by grade level and town. All of our families have had the option to opt-out of having this Directory Information shared, but please let us know here if you would like your student(s) to be removed from the directory.

Please be sure to scroll through the entire memo to see lots of photos of recent events at Rising Tide.

Have a wonderful week.

Sincerely,

Michael O'Keefe

Parent Group Update

Grades 7 & 8 Parents/Guardians: If you’re looking for something fun to do this Friday evening, October 25, between 6:00 - 8:00 pm while your middle schooler is at the Social, head on over to G Pub at 101 Carver Road (West Plymouth Square) in Plymouth. It’s down the road from the school, so it’s an easy stopover while the grade 7 & 8 students are attending their social event. Stop by for dinner or a beverage and meet other Rising Tide families – very casual, very simple. Bring the rest of the family or head over on your own -- it’s a great opportunity to get to know some Rising Tide families. We hope to see you there!

Middle School Families: Mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 29, from 7:35 to 8:55 am, when each middle school student is encouraged to bring a special guest to school to join the student’s morning routine, including their morning advisory and first academic class of the day. It is a great opportunity to gain insight into your child’s school day before first-term report cards and conferences.

We’re looking for donations for refreshments for Muffins in the Morning. Click here to see how you can helpIf you have questions, please contact the Parent Group at rtcpsparentgroup@gmail.com.

Middle Schoolers to Perform Show and Spell

Our middle school students will be performing their play, Show and Spell by Julia Brownell, in early November. This insightful comedy for young actors is about five middle schoolers who take on overzealous parents, crazy coaches, and nostalgic relatives as they prepare for the annual spelling bee. With contestants that range from an unflappable cheerleader who cheers all her words to the anxiety-prone daughter of a movie star, spelling the words correctly may be the least of these kids' worries. Performances will be on November 7th and 8th at 6:00 pm. Tickets will be $5 and available at the door!
