Sept. 3, 7, 10, 14, 17, 21, 24, 28, - Teche Area Farmers Market - Experience a harvest of delicious homegrown produce and homemade products by area farmers, artists and crafters. Also included are handmade cypress yard objects, homemade bread and fresh baked goods, ceramics, honey, jellies, jams, herbs, candies, handcrafted wooden bowls and utensils, birdhouses, garden benches and much more. Sept. 4, 11, 18, 25 - GLC Farmers Market - Every Wednesday. Local farmers selling produce, plants, honey, homemade pies and other items grown locally. Sept. 5, 12, 19, 26 - Bayou Teche French Table - Every Thursday. Celebrate our Cajun culture and improve your French speaking skills regardless of your level of French. Additionally, enjoy conversations with francophones and francophiles who visit New Iberia from all over the world as well as students in the French Immersion setting at North Lewis Elementary. Sept. 5, 19 - Bingo! With Heart - Play for a cause every 1st and 3rd Thursday at 10-game bingo night, benefiting non-profits and charities. Sept. 6, 13, 20, 27 - Pie Bar Live - The first Friday of each month will feature local Cajun music while remaining Fridays will feature a variety of singers, songwriters as well as local legends. Pie Bar will offer a 10% discount on all menu items, every Monday, to all residents of New Iberia. Residents will simply show their drivers license (or other ID) to receive 10% off their food and drink order. Happy Hour is from 3:14-5pm with beer or a glass of wine at 1/2 price. Sept. 19 - Shadows' Lecture on Desegregation of UL Lafayette - Shadows-on-the-Teche was recently awarded a Rebirth Grant from the Louisiana Endowment for the Humanities to offer a fall lecture series centered on education in Louisiana. Sept. 28 - Oct. 27 - Frightmare on Main Street - Last 3 Fridays and the last 4 Saturdays in October + Sunday before Halloween. This terrifying outdoor trail is located on the grounds of the Historic Hot Sauce House on Main Street New Iberia. This secluded home location provides the perfect creepy backdrop for the trail, which will take you through several sets and attractions with live scare actors.
