The PTA will be sponsoring a school-wide lice screening on December 3rd and December 4th. By working together and staying informed, we can effectively manage the spread of head lice in our school community. Please see Principal Cindy's letter HERE.

Please complete the OPT-OUT form if you DO NOT want your child to participate in the screening.

Please check your children's backpack for the Parental Consent Form. Once you turn in the form, your child will be included in the Dental Screening Event.

It is time to kick off another year of FUNdraising! Each year, the PS 33 Chelsea Prep Parent Teacher Association (PTA) raises money to supplement the school’s public education budgets: the NYC DOE funds provide for only basic educational and capital needs. One of two major funds we raise is the Annual Fund.

The goal of the Annual Fund is to directly and exclusively support the most beloved enrichment programs in the classroom and critical educational resources, including TADA, Center for Architecture, Third Street Music, recess coaches, Math Club, field trips, and many more! Our Annual Fund plays such a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience for both students and staff. Programs such as these would not be possible without your generous contributions. TEACHER’S ASSISTANT FUND!

(*this is different from the Annual Fund - please read!*)

WHAT is the Teacher’s Assistant (TA) Fund? 

The TA Fund pays for our TEACHER’S ASSISTANTS in K – 5th grades!  It is FULLY parent-funded, which is why it’s so important to contribute!!  Without your contributions, large or small, we will not have TAs to assist our teachers and work with our kids!

WHY are we asking parents to pay for Teacher’s Assistants? 

The NYC  Dept of Education does not pay for Teacher’s Assistants.   Parent contributions are the only funds that can be used to hire these TAs.  If a grade does not raise sufficient funds to pay for the TA’s salary, that grade will unfortunately lose their TA for the remainder of the year.  

PLEASE DONATE:  

DONATIONS of any amount possible for your family are greatly appreciated!  We can’t do this without you!  This is really a SHARED responsibility and privilege!  Please be a part (in whatever capacity you can) of ensuring we can keep our TAs funded all year long!

We are eager to continue providing after-school programming for the PS 33 community, with some new and exciting offerings for the Winter term. 

The Winter semester runs from December 9, 2024 - March 21st, 2025. We offer after-school classes Mondays - Fridays for students in grades K-5. Please find attached our schedule of Winter offerings, plus associated class descriptions. Minimum enrollment of 8 students is required per class. Schedule is subject to change based on enrollment numbers.
