THE LIFE OF MOSES – LESSON 35
ISRAEL’S TENTH TEMPTATION
______________________
Moses overcame the challenge to his leadership authority from his two older siblings through God’s intervention. Now he was about to face a major insurrection as the entire nation of Israel was about to rebel and choose a new leader.
Israel broke camp and pitched camp in the wilderness of Paran at Kadesh-barnea. This was near the southernmost edge of Canaan. They had finally arrived, and it was time to begin preparations to invade Canaan and take possession. Two years had passed.
In order to form a plan of invasion, they needed much information about the land, its cities, and its people. A scouting party was needed to do that. Moses chose the chief ruler of each of the twelve tribes to do the reconnaissance. These twelve scouts (spies) spent 40 days searching out the land. Upon returning, ten of the spies gave a very good report of the land, but an evil report of great walled (fortified) cities and a large population of giants that were eight to ten feet tall. (I base this on Goliath’s size.)
The people were terrified at the evil report of ten of the scouts. Only Joshua and Caleb gave positive reports. Moses was ready to invade the land based on God’s instructions and Joshua and Caleb’s report (Numbers 13). The people rebelled and refused to go. In Numbers 14:4 they spoke of choosing a new leader to take them back to Egypt. Moses, Aaron, Joshua, and Caleb were greatly distressed over the rebellion.
The LORD was so angry with the people that He told Moses in verse 12 that He was going to smite those that rebelled with pestilence and disinherit them entirely and then make a new and greater nation from Moses. Moses interceded on their behalf and God relented. This was the tenth time the people had “tempted” God. Egypt had tempted Him ten times until He was done with them. Now Israel had tempted Him ten times and He was ready to be done with them also (ten is the number of completion). If Moses hadn’t interceded for them, God would have been done with Israel too.
However, punishment did come. The ten spies who brought the evil report died of pestilence as did some others. The Amalekites and Canaanites made war and smote them. God decreed that all males aged twenty and above would die in the wilderness without ever setting foot in Canaan. Israel had rejected God’s plan and faced consequences. We must also be careful to accept and follow His plan lest we suffer the consequences. How do we know His plan? It comes by studying His written word, the Holy Bible. Sadly, most professing Christians rarely, if ever, study their Bible. They rely on what others say about it. How would they know if the “others” are right? (Pastors, preachers, teachers, prophets, etc.) You must know for yourself.

AMBASSADORS OF RECONCILIATION
_____________________
With Satan’s win in the Garden of Eden, mankind became separated from God because of their sin. Adam and Eve were cast out of the only place they knew as home and were forced into manual labor to bring forth food. Despite their rebellion, God gave a promise in Genesis 3:16 when He said, “And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed [Satan’s seed] and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.”
Down through the ages the prophets of old spoke of one coming that would fulfill that Word that God gave. We see it in Micah where it was foretold this “One” would be born in Bethlehem. We see it in Isaiah where “One” would be called “The mighty God.” We see it in Isaiah where he is seen as a suffering Messiah.
Jesus fulfilled that Genesis prophecy. His mission is stated in Luke 19:10 where it says, “For the Son of man [Jesus] is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” That happened when he shed his innocent blood for mankind’s sin. The “One” had come. Satan was put under Jesus’ feet [Hebrews 2:8; Ephesians 1:22; 1 Corinthians 15:25, 27].
When he left this world to rule from heaven, he gave us a mission. That mission is not just to learn the scriptures and go to church; it is to apply what we have learned to fulfill that mission. Jesus sends us, to be ambassadors on his behalf. (Matthew 28:19.)
Paul taught it in 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 where it says, “19To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.”
We are to share the gospel with others, so they can be reconciled [their sins forgiven them] back to the Father. This is the mission for each of us, whether we are in full-time ministry or a lay person. We all are to be ambassadors of reconciliation.
If each of us do our part, we will see revival sweep across the world. Then one day we will hear the words, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” This mission should be the heart and the priority of every Christian.

A PROPHETIC WORD
AS GIVEN TO HELEN SANDERS
THE TIME OF EASE IS OVER. For many have been swept up in the time of ease and have not listened to my voice. Oh yes, they say that they are mine, but they have been distracted by so many things. I have called unto them to come to me and sit at my feet and listen, but many have been dull of hearing and have been living the life of ease which is not the way it should be. For I would say that there are changes coming that will bring many in that place of ease to their knees. They will say, Lord, Lord, and I will say I never knew you. For this is the hour to have your lamps full of my oil and the time to be prepared to meet your bridegroom. For in an hour that you do not expect it, I shall come, and it will be too late for many. For have I not said that the times would be as in the Days of Noah? Have I not said that there would be chaos and deception? Have I not warned you and warned you that you must be prepared and ready? Yet many have not listened. My Spirit has wooed and drawn many, but they have refused to surrender their lives. Oh my, it shall be a time of weeping. It shall be a time of wrath like you have never seen. For those that have not listened it shall surely come upon them as in the days of Noah. The door will be shut, and it will be too late. But for those that have listened and stood vigilantly in the armor of God, they shall see the power of God rest upon them, and they shall rise in this hour and do great exploits. They shall be hated and mocked, and many shall lose their lives for my sake. Yet, because they have remained faithful and stood while others lived the life of ease, they shall be rewarded for their faithfulness. They shall see my hand upon them guiding them in what is ahead, and they shall see and do great things for my kingdom. For as the Son awaits His bride, the bride that stands awaits the Son. So, listen, watch, and pray, for things are going to change rapidly.

Tuesday Thought For Today
As we go through the coming season, I wanted to remind you of Gods promises to us.
I am your strength.
“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10 NLT
I will never leave you.
“Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.” So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear. What can mere people do to me?””
Hebrews 13:5-6 NLT
I have plans to prosper you.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
Jeremiah 29:11-13 NLT
I hear your prayers.
“The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayers of the righteous.”
Proverbs 15:29 NLT
I will fight for you.
“The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm."
Exodus 14:14 NLT
I will give you peace.
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
John 14:27 NKJV
I will always love you.
“Long ago the Lord said to Israel: “I have loved you, my people, with an everlasting love. With unfailing love I have drawn you to myself.”
Jeremiah 31:3 NLT

Snowflakes! HCC
Snowflakes, all so different, each one is unique.
Different shapes and sizes, from our God
Of surprise. Yes, cold and icy, yes, they are
But like a feather, float. Float and cover everything
Whiteness overflows. Snowflakes packed,
Now snowballs, and snowmen standing tall.
A sled goes sliding, on ground of white.
Oh, what fun! As God makes fun for all.
Thank you, God for Snowflakes!
