What are catalytic converters and why are they being stolen?
A catalytic converter is a vital element of your car’s exhaust system, located on the underside of your vehicle. Catalytic converters control emissions by turning harmful exhaust pollutants into safer gasses. In order to do this, the technology behind catalytic converters uses precious metals including platinum, palladium and rhodium. The precious metals contained within the catalytic converter are the main reason this theft occurs.

Trenching & Excavation
Trenching and excavation work can be dangerous if proper procedures are not followed. Hazards include cave-ins, struck-by injuries, electrical contact, and slips, trips, and falls.
The Excavations section (Part III, s. 222 to 242) of the Construction Projects regulation (213/91) applies to all excavating and trenching operations. It identifies the various types of soils and specifies the type of shoring and timbering to be used for each. It spells out the precautions that must be taken before an excavation is begun and the requirements for trench support systems that must be designed by a professional engineer.
It is important to understand the difference between the terms trench and excavation.
An excavation is a hole left in the ground as the result of removing material. A trench is an excavation in which the depth exceeds the width. READ MORE

2025 premium rates the lowest they've been in more than 50 years
We’re lowering the average premium rate for Ontario businesses in 2025 to $1.25, the lowest it’s been in more than 50 years.
We’ve cut the average premium rate by more than 50 per cent over the last decade, resulting in cumulative savings for businesses of approximately $18.6 billion since 2017. Ontario businesses will save approximately $150 million next year compared to 2024, which can be invested in new jobs, technology, and health and safety improvements.
Businesses can sign up or log in to online services to view their 2025 premium rate(s) now.
