My husband Steven and I raised our family in Trumbull, which is also where I grew up. Through the years I’ve been an active synagogue leader – first at Congregation Rodeph Sholom and later at Congregation B’nai Torah. Among other things, I led the Nursery School committee when my children were small and was involved in the Talmud Torah committee. After serving at the synagogue level for 25 years, I decided I wanted to be more involved in our broader community. I was a board member and President of our Merkaz Community High School for Judaic Studies and became a Federation board member in 2020. I have served as both an Allocations Chairperson and Board secretary.
I have enjoyed getting to know and being involved in our Federation. I’m proud of the contributions we make to our local community by serving our young families with PJ Library, our teens through Merkaz, and our adults through an amazing array of programs arranged by our extremely dedicated staff. I’m humbled by the continued support we provide amid challenges in Israel and the dramatic rise of antisemitism. The dedication of our board members and staff in ensuring that the Federation serves our local community, while also supporting our Israeli and overseas community, is an impressive and noble effort.
You should know that we have an extremely hardworking executive committee and board who will be working with me in the coming year to continue to support our staff in providing excellent programming for our community. My goal is to work towards strengthening some of the internal workings of the agency and growing the areas that are of most interest to you.
Please feel free to reach out to me to share things you would like to see in our community where you think the Federation can be involved. We are here to serve the Jewish community and strengthen it!
