Kids! Run the Mini Marshmallow 3K at Laramie Park

Join us for our winter youth race around Laramie Park. Stay warm with hot cocoa and marshmallows. Participants will receive a t-shirt, goodie bag and finisher medals. The race starts promptly at 10 a.m. Ages 6-13 only.

Staff win two WILS scholarships

The Women in Leisure Services (WILS) Chicago Chapter has awarded two of their three April 2025 LeadHERship Women’s Conference Scholarships to staff at the district's Devonshire Cultural Center.

 

Rebecca Goldberg (left), performing arts supervisor, and Katherine Robinson (right), cultural arts supervisor, were named the recipients yesterday. Both will now attend the conference for free. The LeadHERship Women's Conference is a movement dedicated to amplifying the voices and experiences of women.

 

WILS is a national organization for women working in the delivery of recreation and related services in municipal, military, private, and commercial settings. A network of chapters serves administrators, supervisors, educators, therapists, armed forces professionals, and consultants throughout the country. The Chicago Chapter was established in 2022.
