Here is some information we’ve shared with the seniors to help plan for the event:
-
Start time: seniors must check in at the senior lounge between 8:00-8:45 p.m. Saturday, January 11.
-
Students should eat dinner before they arrive. Our buffet won’t start until midnight.
- Bring a water bottle.
-
Dress comfortably and bring a variety of options to change into if needed. For example, you may want something to play in (athletic-wear), lounge-wear to be comfortable, or a variety of layers depending on the activity or picture options you might have. If you get sweaty shooting hoops, bring extra outfits. Make sense?
-
The pool is not open. This will not change.
-
We stay indoors except for walking between buildings.
- Feel free to bring a pillow or blanket if you want to nap at some point. We designate two separate quiet areas.
-
Everyone joins the 9:00 p.m. event but after that students choose activities throughout the night.
-
End time: breakfast food arrives around 5:45/6:00 a.m. More surprise stuff happens, then everyone departs around 7:00 a.m.
-
If someone gets ill and needs to leave in the middle of the night, we will call a parent to get you.
- If students have a conflict or something that impacts their arrival time or when they need to leave, please communicate with Mr. Thompson or Mrs. Izokaitis in advance. We will figure out a way to make it work.
-
Lastly, all school rules apply.
In terms of students driving to school, we’d prefer that they get dropped off and picked up by an adult since they will be tired and sleep-deprived. For safety reasons, please consider this or find carpool options to keep our seniors safe.
Finally, watch for the permission form that you and your student can sign in Blackbaud. We are thrilled to be able to host this year after year because students have engaged so positively with the spirit of the event. We hope the Class of 2025 keeps the tradition going by doing the same. Oh, and we remind the students not to share details with underclassmen. It’s fun to keep the surprise going.
Thank you in advance for the parents helping to shuttle the late-night food to the buffet and for all those who have donated auction items. We truly appreciate it.
Best,
Lock-In Planning Committee
