Thanks to the support of its dedicated stakeholders, Read to a Child had an outstanding Fiscal Year 2024 which ended on September 30. Not only did we serve more than 1,000 students in 2024, but we also ended the fiscal year with healthy and sustainable financial results. It is through amazing generosity (of money and time) that Read to a Child will continue to bring the Read Aloud Mentoring Program to more students who need it most. Thank you to all of our supporters who make this possible!

The Bain Capital

Read Aloud Mentoring Program at Josiah Quincy Elementary School

With sponsorship from Bain Capital, Read to a Child in Greater Boston has launched an in-person and virtual Read Aloud Mentoring Program at the Josiah Quincy Elementary School, our newest school partner located in Boston's Chinatown neighborhood. More than 20 Bain Capital employees, along with other community volunteers, are serving as one-on-one volunteer reading mentors for students. The partnership between Read to a Child and Bain Capital has created a great opportunity to expand our program into the Josiah Quincy School. "We look forward to partnering with the Josiah Quincy Elementary School and Read to a Child to expand the program's reach. Helping students experiences the joys of reading has been an incredible experience for me and my fellow reading mentors at Bain Capital," said Dan Haddad, Director of Investor Relations and volunteer reading mentor.

Reading mentors started in the Spring 2024 semester and engagement is continuing to grow this fall. We are thrilled to bring the Read Aloud Mentoring Program to more students in Boston, and to provide a rewarding volunteer opportunity for Bain Capital employees. Thank you Bain Capital for providing this lead support.
