White Christmas? No, Just Rain

Late fall was wet, cold, and miserable. Above-average snow in the mountains and two deployments to pretreat due to black ice and a La Niña forecast signaled a likely colder, possibly snowy winter. However, the current late December forecast predicts wet and mild weather. While winter officially begins next week, there is still a lot of winter ahead. The long-range NOAA forecast above and several other forecasters below suggest a cold, potentially snowy winter. We’ll see, but we are prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws at us.

Leaf removal is wrapping up (except for those pesky late-leaf-drop trees), and the dry early December allowed us to even mow some properties. We are preparing for winter pruning and shrub bed work to get ready for spring. As always, we will be busy during the winter, ensuring the landscapes we manage are well-prepared for the coming spring season.
