Late fall was wet, cold, and miserable. Above-average snow in the mountains and two deployments to pretreat due to black ice and a La Niña forecast signaled a likely colder, possibly snowy winter. However, the current late December forecast predicts wet and mild weather. While winter officially begins next week, there is still a lot of winter ahead. The long-range NOAA forecast above and several other forecasters below suggest a cold, potentially snowy winter. We’ll see, but we are prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws at us. |
