SAFETY TIP: During a power outage, safety is key. Avoid using candles for lighting—instead, use flashlights or battery-operated lanterns. Unplug sensitive electronics to protect them from power surges when electricity is restored. If you use a generator, make sure it’s placed outside, away from windows and doors, to avoid carbon monoxide poisoning. In an emergency dial 911. | |

Back to School Expo: Empowering our Community
Last month, our team participated in the KFOX14 News and CBS4 Local Back to School Expo at Bassett Place, where we contributed to an exciting and impactful day for local families. We distributed free school supplies to kids, while also engaging with the community by sharing valuable information on smart meters, the convenience of the EPE app, and the benefits of autopay and paperless billing. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with our customers and support their needs as the new school year approaches.

Electrifying El Paso’s Schools: A Milestone in Sustainability
On July 19, we proudly partnered with Socorro ISD to unveil the first electric school buses in El Paso, Texas, marking a significant achievement in our commitment to sustainability. Thanks to a $9.8 million grant from the EPA, 25 new electric buses and charging stations have been introduced, reducing CO2 emissions by an estimated 1.3 million pounds annually. This initiative wouldn’t have been possible without the dedicated efforts of EPE’s Electrification and Distribution teams and the strong leadership at Socorro ISD. Together, we’re driving forward a cleaner, sustainable future for our community.
