RESOURCES

The Kitchen is a Place Where All Can Learn

Teaching kitchens connect the art of food and cooking with the science of nutrition. The recently published Drew's Views blog from the NIH Office of Nutrition Research spotlights how learning in the kitchen has emerged as an exciting new avenue for nutrition research. Teaching kitchens are far more than just “kitchens”, they are physical and virtual learning labs and research hubs dedicated to advancing hands-on approaches to nutrition education and behavior change in teaching kitchen settings. The blog highlights current trends, new findings, and future trajectories in this area. The kitchen is a place where everyone can learn, so as the holiday time approaches, consider integrating the tangible elements of connectedness, nutrition, and health for a happy, healthy, and joyful holiday season.
