Dear LDCRF Family,

As 2024 comes to a close, I want to share with you some thoughts about our journey this year.

This year has been one of the most difficult in our history as a rescue foundation. Shelters both local and across the nation have found themselves in a devastating capacity crisis, facing the ugliest threat there is - euthanasia. This threat became the harsh reality for hundreds of thousands of innocent dogs and cats this year, many of which were due to a simple lack of shelter space.

Despite this reality, giving up isn't in our nature -- no matter how hard it gets.

Running our rescue brings its own set of challenges – big vet bills, caring for sick dogs and cats, and the emotional weight of our work. These are hurdles we face head-on, driven by our mission to make a difference.

Having the financial means to say "YES" when our shelter partners reach out is integral to continuing our mission of saving lives.

Our goal remains: Change Their Fate and Save Lives.

Every "YES" we provide to overcrowded shelters means fewer animals face euthanasia.

I am so proud to share the remarkable accomplishments we've achieved together this year at LDCRF:

This year has been incredibly impactful, with 1,564 adoptions of rescued dogs and cats into loving homes. Our volunteers have contributed immensely, providing 53,215 days of foster care through 1,888 foster placements. Additionally, 1,381 dedicated volunteers at the RCC have amassed over 34,000 hours of service. Together, we've made a huge difference in the lives of homeless pets and our community.

Take a look at our year "By the Numbers" in this quick clip!

I'm so grateful for the support and dedication you’ve shown to our mission. Your contributions have made a real difference in the lives of countless animals, and for that, I cannot thank you enough.

Looking ahead to 2025, we're not just continuing our efforts – we're stepping them up.

I promise you, we will explore innovative ways to make a difference for the animals in need. We will introduce new adoption opportunities enabling pets to find loving homes more quickly than ever before.

Our mission to provide a safe haven will grow stronger as we open our doors to more animals in need, saying “yes” to giving them the love and care they deserve. We will achieve this by focusing on the use of our Rescue Care Center and the Lost Dog Ranch, ensuring that every available resource is used to its fullest potential.

We refuse to stop until adoptable animals are no longer facing euthanasia, simply because there isn't enough space for them. Perseverance pays off and with your continued support, we'll make an even bigger impact.

Thank you for being part of this incredible journey. Together, we're changing their fate and saving lives.

Happy New Year and as always for the animals,

Pam McAlwee
