IPM Community Partners Serve Up Summer Picnics

IPM's Summer Picnics, a tradition spearheaded by our Pantry Partners since 2021 at our former Newtown and Amelia pantries, took on a new flavor this year as we adapted them to IPM's new Pantry and Distribution Center.

In June we distributed grilled, bagged hotdog meals to neighbors in our Monday Drive-Through Pantry, and in July we distributed the lunches to families in our Monday Choice Pantry.

We are very grateful to IPM's Pantry Partners and church and community partners who provided the funding for the food, as well as staffing the grilling/distribution teams:

Cincinnati Eastside Rotary Club, Savor Seasonings LLC, Mt. Carmel Christian Church, Mercy Health Clermont, Sharefax Credit Union, Park National Bank, TQL Cares, Armstrong Chapel United Methodist Church (not pictured) and Doscher's Candy Co.

The meals also included "inspiration gifts" for our neighbors, ranging from seed packets and cards to pens emblazoned with uplifting quotes. IPM is so blessed to have these partnerships that feed families both in body and spirit!

"I came here today for the picnic! I’ve picked up my grandkids and we’re going to take this lunch to the park and have a picnic together. It’s so nice that you all do this." — Neighbor at Drive-Through Pantry

"Thank you for everything that you do. You’re a blessing. I came here today without any food and I’m leaving with food and a hot meal." — Neighbor at Choice Pantry

“This is great! Now I don’t have to go home and make my kids a lunch! Thank you so much!” — Neighbor at Choice Pantry

“I love to watch the interactions between our neighbors who are shopping and our partners who are offering freshly grilled hotdogs and more. It’s an unexpected kindness from a smiling stranger in a moment of vulnerability neighbor helping neighbor in the simplest and most meaningful way." — Melissa Meyer, IPM President and CEO
