LINK TO HOPE NEWSLETTER

A message from the Executive Director - Melissa Karrer

Hi Friends,

November is here and I'm leaning in! I'm so grateful that our weather here in Kentucky has been just right to help the colors of the leaves be so stunning as they change over. So beautiful.

As you'll see below, we had a busy October traveling from Pikeville to Paducah participating in community events with some that raised funds to provide support to our mission. Meeting and talking with some amazing people across the Commonwealth really solidifies the work that we are trying to do and the countless people that need us.

In November, lung cancer is a main focus with efforts through the Kentucky Lung Cancer Screening Program funded by the state legislature providing the opportunity to serve Kentuckians that do not have access to screening due to lack of insurance or coverage for screening in plans they do have. Many Kentucky healthcare facilities are doing their part to ensure that quality lung screening programs are available.

Thank you for reading and following along with our mission. We cannot do the work without the support of others. Let's continue to work together to be a link to hope to Kentuckians in need.

Cheers,

Melissa

Melissa had the opportunity to share information about breast cancer screening resources on the WKYT mid-morning show for breast cancer awareness month.

Delicious Ideas

Cranberry Turkey Sliders

This is a delicious way to repurpose those Thanksgiving dinner leftovers, (if you have any.)

If I'm being honest, I'll eat just about anything if it's prepared on a delicious Hawaiian roll.

There are so many variations for this recipe, and this is definitely a favorite.

Toasted Orzo Chicken Soup

Soup season is upon us and this recipe is cozy comfort in a bowl with so much flavor.

The sweet chili oil adds a touch of warmth and spice & the ingredients can be easily swapped to suit your taste or dietary preferences.

This recipe would be a great option for meal prepping and freezes well too & if you have leftover turkey, you can sub turkey for chicken.

Pumpkin Pie Cake

If you're looking for a delicious pumpkin dessert to serve this holiday season, look no further.

This recipe comes together easily by dumping a few ingredients in a pan and turns into the most delicious treat. Add a dollop of whipped cream and prepare to be delighted!
