Pace SBDC Launches Flatbush & Sunset Park Satellites

The Pace University Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is excited to announce the expansion of its services to Flatbush and Sunset Park (Industry City) in Brooklyn, bringing our expertise directly to aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners.


We’ve launched new in-person small business advisory services in Flatbush in partnership with Assemblymember Rodneyse Bichotte Hermelyn, the Flatbush Nostrand Junction BID and Little Haiti BK; and in Industry City in partnership with Congressman Dan Goldman and the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce. This builds on satellite locations our center operates from the Brooklyn and New York Public Library's business branches.

Pace SBDC at AI Training during America's SBDC Annual Conference

Pace University SBDC Business Advisors Joe Peterson and Pedro Soto recently attended a full-day AI Training session as part of the America’s SBDC Annual Conference. This event brought together experts and SBDC advisors from across the country to explore the latest developments in artificial intelligence and its applications for small businesses.


During the training, the Pace SBDC team learned valuable insights on how AI can help streamline operations, enhance marketing strategies, and improve customer engagement for small business clients. We are excited to integrate this knowledge into our advising services, helping our clients harness the power of AI to grow and thrive. Fit N Play Mama


Danielle Medina, owner of Fit N Play Mama, sought advice from Pace SBDC Business Advisor Joe Peterson, who assisted in establishing their LLC and formalizing their operations and building out a strategic marketing effort, ensuring solid foundation for growth.


With this assistance, the business was able to secure a Neighborhood Business Grant from the Citizen's Committee for NYC and create a new job. You can learn more about Fit N Play Mama's journey here.

IDEO Skincare

Andrew Shemin, founder of IDEO Skincare, sought advise from Pace SBDC Business Advisor Rawle Brown, who helped in refining marketing strategies and explore financing options to support growth.

Recent Events at Pace SBDC

The Pace University SBDC was pleased to table at recent events hosted by the MTA, Qualitas of Life Foundation, and the US Small Business Administration, where our team connected with small business owners. These events provides an invaluable opportunity to highlight SBDC assistance in accessing financing, seeking procurement opportunities and securing Minority & Women Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE) certification. Further, the Pace SBDC team as able to connect with and arrange 1:1 sessions in Spanish with business owners in attendance.

New Additions To Our Team

The Pace University SBDC is thrilled to welcome two student interns. Nishtha Sood is pursuing her MBA in Marketing Analytics at Pace University. She brings experience in data analysis, digital strategy, and social media management, having worked with teams to enhance client engagement and drive business growth. Originally from India, she is excited to contribute her skills to the SBDC.


Caroline Gomes is also pursuing a Master’s in Marketing Analytics at Pace University. Originally from Brazil, she has experience in project management, marketing strategy, and leadership, honed during her years as a student-athlete. Caroline is eager to apply her diverse skill set to help support small businesses.
