"Growing Works" Camarillo Nursery

ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • Growing Works is proud to be installing their first garden at the Ventura County Fair! "Pollinator Paradise" will feature blooming plants, grasses, trees and shrubs from Growing Works in a festive example of home gardening. Please stop by, enjoy this landmark in our development, and share with friends, family and social media! We want to get a good buzz going (pun intended!!) The VC Fair is July 31st - August 11th, open daily from 12pm to 12am at 10 West Harbor Blvd. in Ventura.

  • Katie Tilford of TinyPlants has accepted a promotion in her day job and has thusly ended her partnership with Growing Works. Jenn Rodriguez, Growing Works Manager, is working with Jason Meek and her GW staff to evaluate options and navigate the future course of retail sales at Growing Works. Jenn is grateful for the four years of partnership with Katie and is also excited about the possibility of taking retail sales in house, possibly expanding hours, and continuing to build GW's mission and sales.

  • Growing Works will head back to the VC Fairgrounds September 10th - 12th for the Baker Creek National Heirloom Expo. This will be our second year at this festival of all things heirloom plants. We will be selling edible California Native Plants including strawberries, walnuts, mints, sages and currants. If you would like to help staff our booth, please fill out the volunteer form on the TPF website or email Jenn at Jenn.Rodriguez@turningpointfoundation.org. The National Heirloom Expo welcomes food enthusiasts from all over the region, state and even nation.

The Oxnard Wellness Center

View our latest video sharing this unique clubhouse model, community peer-support based, mental wellness program. Open 5 days a week for individuals 18 and older. No cost, no insurance and no referral required!

This innovative program is based on the nationwide movement to integrate peer staff into mental health services, demonstrating the importance of self-empowerment and peer programs as part of mental wellness. Members of The Wellness Center work with peer staff to develop self-advocacy skills, gain insight into wellness tools, and develop hope towards the possibility of recovery from mental health and/or substance abuse. People who have experienced both sides of the mental health system provide hope, education and direct support among their peers where they can share goals, conquer fears and celebrate success.
