Dear Daniel,
Connect to Our Neighbors
You know we've been working in the country of Haiti for many years. Our international focus continues, but now we find that many from Haiti have come to our neighborhood here in Georgia, and they arrive with their own set of needs. As a result, we have launched a program called Connect to Our Neighbors (C2ON for short) under Haiti Cheri's umbrella. We're making connections for people in need in the Haitian and Hispanic communities to provide things such as emergency food, shelter, translation services, English classes, and so forth. Much of this outreach is deployed through Connection Church in Roswell, and we would like to invite you to participate in a few ways that are described below!
Come to the December Gala
If you've never had delicious Haitian food, that alone would be a reason to come! On December 22 at 7:00PM, there will be a gala at Connection church in Roswell. There will be Haitian food and music, along with a brief Christmas message. It will be a bilingual event, so you will be sure to enjoy this cultural evening. The goal for this event is to raise $40,000 so the church can buy a van to transport as many people as possible to the Sunday services. You can call 770-284-0864 to reserve your spot, or just reply to this email and we'll get you connected.
Be a Gala Sponsor
We're looking for individuals who might be interested in being a sponsor for the gala. Sponsors can help cover the cost and accelerate the effort to secure the van. We've written a more detailed description of what that will mean to us here: https://www.haiticheri.org/gala2024. This is a personal letter from Pastor Oris Guillaume, CEO of Haiti Cheri and also the pastor of Connection Church.
Be a Christmas Dinner Sponsor
The last thing we would like to tell you about is a campaign through C2ON and Connection Church to feed hungry people in the community. Through our regular local outreach, we've identified many people who are wondering how they can feed their families a Christmas dinner. We have a campaign to address this need, with the goal to raise $10,000 to buy food gift cards in the amount of $250 each to provide Christmas dinner for 40 families. You can give any amount, such as $50, $100, or more and we'll combine gifts to purchase the cards. Pastor Oris has another letter that gives more information about the campaign. Please read it here: https://www.haiticheri.org/christmas2024.
As we close out the year, we want to be sure to thank you for your support throughout this challenging year. It's been a tough year for Haiti, but we know God remains in control. Thank you so much for your generosity and prayers, and we wish you a very merry Christmas!
