Hello JT,

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of civil rights lawyer Martin Stolar. We're so sorry to have lost Martin Stolar, who was TWN and Newsreel's lawyer from the beginning, who always stood up for the people and progressive causes and fought to the end! He made such a difference for all of us and we'll really miss him. To learn more about his legacy as a civil rights lawyer, read his obituary in the New York Times.

Last year, we also lost our dear friend and editing teacher, Sikay Tang. A memorial for her will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 2 PM at Saint Mark's Church in-the-Bowery in NYC.

In other news, for three months we have been collaborating with the members of the Diverse Filmmakers Alliance to organize the Centering Palestine on Screen series in Brooklyn, Manhattan and the Bronx. Our last screening will be on Friday, August 9 at Maysles Cinema in Harlem. Please save the date and follow us on social media for tickets and more details.

We wish to congratulate Louis Massiah, filmmaker and founder of Scribe in Philadelphia, who received an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Arts from Swarthmore College. Also, we salute the team at the Newark Black Film Festival for their 50th anniversary.

If you're a Production Workshop graduate, distribution catalog partner or fiscal sponsoree with an upcoming festival screening, premiere, or other great news, do let us know. We want to spotlight you far and wide; your stories deserve amplified attention!

Don't forget to stay connected with us! Follow us on social media for updates on upcoming film screenings, workshops, and news from the TWN community.
