October Spotlight

Settling In by Jean Clark, a 2023 Square Foot Fiber Art Pin Up Show winning entry. Jean used exposed warp and eccentric weave tapestry techniques with wove with linen, raffia, cotton, and bast fibers. She says, " Many of my pieces make use of eccentric weave techniques. In this piece I experimented with exposed warps and crafted a hanger [not shown] by splitting a length of cane and then glueing the weaving between the split canes."

Hurricane Hellenne

As you can see, Hurricane Hellenne devastated Local Cloth in Asheville, NC. You can help them rebuild by donating or by emailing if you or a group you belong to can help them with their clean-up efforts.

Hellenne also ravaged the area around Haywood Community College in Clyde, NC. The school and our Spotlight on Student Fiber Trends 2024 exhibition are safe, but Saturday's opening reception will be rescheduled.
