Special Town Meeting for NY Forward Grant Application
Do you have ideas for Copake? Do you have a project you would like to build in the Hamlet of Copake? On Thursday, Oct. 10 from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, there will be a second public workshop at Copake Town Hall to discuss and solicit information for the town’s application to the NY Forward program for 2024.
The NY Forward program was created for the revitalization of small NY State communities. This year, the awards will go to two municipalities in the amount of $4.5 million each. In past years, Copake has made strong applications, but the competition has been equally strong. This year, we hope to convince NY State that we are ready for major revitalization projects in the Hamlet of Copake. The program is specifically aimed at communities that have a compact, walkable, viable downtown area.

Anyone wishing to have a project included in the grant application should go to the above website and click on Submit Proposal. Past projects have included restaurants and wine bars, a flower shop, affordable housing, a farm stand, renovations and expansions of existing businesses, and public infrastructure and recreational projects.
