College Financial Aid Webinar -- Tomorrow

You are invited to join us for our annual College Financial Aid Webinar which will be held virtually on Zoom Wednesday, November 13th. New this year, we will be holding the webinar at 12:00pm rather than in the evening, so we hope that you may have the opportunity to take a break in your day to eat lunch and listen in. As there have been recent changes to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), you will not want to miss this information! Please reach out to your student's assigned school counselor with any questions.

Stallions in the Spotlight

Senior Michael Haas is being recognized this week by the Columbus Dispatch for Student of the Week. Please take a moment to vote for him today! Vote Here.

Congratulations to senior Sarah Stevenson for being selected as the Westerville Rotary Student of the Month for November.

Last Friday we had the honor of celebrating Veterans Day with an all-school assembly. We welcomed several alumni, parents, past parents, grandparents and family friends to share in this special morning. Thank you to Brigadier General John Dreska, U.S. Army, for sharing his story with our school community during the morning assembly as well.

The members of the St. Vincent DePaul Club collected 14,324 cans over the past 3 weeks, beating the club's donation last year of 11,900 cans. Their advisors could not be more proud of the hard work and enthusiasm they showed for this great cause!

Reminder: This is the last week to donate to our canned food drive -- let's finish strong.

33 young men traveled to the Josephinum last Tuesday to learn more about discerning their vocations at the 2024 Serra Club Young Men’s luncheon. We brought the largest group of any school! Please pray for all of our students to respond to God’s call for them in their lives.

Chaplain's Corner

Praised be Jesus Christ! Our celebration of the Holy Eucharist at Mass on Sundays is the direction toward which we live our lives. As I mentioned last week, the Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian Life, so we should always have two things in mind. First, a gratitude for the strength that we have received from the Eucharist, then, second, the desire to receive Jesus again at the next Mass we attend. Pope Francis reminds us that "when we enter a church [or chapel] to celebrate the Mass, let us think like this: 'I am arriving at Calvary, where Jesus gives His life for me.' And in this way, [we can focus on] this beautiful thing which is the Mass, Jesus' victory." As we look forward each week toward the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass on Sunday, may we remember that everything we do is for the One Who gives Himself to us in the Eucharist.

Scholarship Opportunity for Grades 9-12

The Knights of Columbus Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded to Ohio Catholic students (grades 9-12) attending Catholic high schools in Ohio. The requirements considered for this scholarship are financial need of the student and family, a grade point average of 2.5 or higher, academic awards, community and/or parish involvement, and extracurricular activities. Applicants must be practicing Catholics. There will be no more than one winner per high school. Because the deadline falls during Thanksgiving break, students must submit completed applications to their school counselor by November 22nd (this is one week prior to the scholarship deadline). The application can be found at https://ohiocharityfoundation.org/scholarships/.

Spiritual Reflection

Let us not boast, Lord God, about our accomplishments in your service. What good we have done has been due to your help, grace, and inspiration. Let us be aware of your assistance through fidelity, honesty, courage, and faith. If we are at peace both with ourselves and with others, it is due mainly to your help in keeping us from bitterness, hate, or jealousy. Let our kindness to others reflect your kindness to us. Amen.
