This month, “Beige,” the extremely popular song by pop-folk artist Yoke Lore has been officially certified platinum by the RIAA.
“This song is about love, unfulfilled,” shares Adrian Galvin (aka Yoke Lore). “It’s about wanting something more. But throughout its 6 or 7 year lifespan, it has become so important to so many people. It has become such a fixture of feeling within people’s lives, tied to big moments of love and loss, arresting time and space like only a song can. Beige has re-written its own story, it has fulfilled itself by incorporating itself into the drama of reality. This song started as a lament, and now it’s a celebration. It is a privilege to have added some beauty to universe.”
Besides the “Beige” news, another Yoke Lore song, “The Score,” is going to be getting some star treatment of its own as it will be featured on this Thursday’s episode of the ABC hit drama Grey’s Anatomy. The episode is titled “Take Me to Church.”

Yoke Lore – a.k.a. Los Angeles-based multi-instrumentalist, dancer, and visual artist Adrian Galvin – has been immersed in music for his whole life. Having grown up in Katonah, NY among a highly creative, intensely spiritual family, his musical journey began with countless bands, including a role as founding member of Walk The Moon, with whom he co-wrote the chart-topping debut single, “Anna Sun.” A gifted visual artist, Galvin also explored dance and co-founded the dance company Boomerang in the mid 2010’s. In 2016, Galvin began performing solo as Yoke Lore, shaped in part by his growing interest in the banjo, that most storied instrument in the mythos of American music, the sound of deliverance set to five strings. He quickly found success with 2017’s “Beige,” earning ecstatic critical applause. An extended series of singles, EPs, collaborations, film scores, and international live performances (including tours alongside Bastille, Bishop Briggs, Mt. Joy, The Pains of Being Pure of Heart, and The Head and The Heart, among others) followed, all of which saw Galvin amassing over 450M worldwide streams while fusing his myriad creative passions into a singular and cohesive form of expression. Yoke Lore’s full-length debut, Toward a Never Ending New Beginning, arrived at last in 2023, solidifying Galvin’s distinctive approach with thoughtful reflection and raw, unfiltered honesty, transcending songcraft and genre into an intricately hewed vision altogether his own.
