2025 Member Dues and Enhanced Benefits

Hello CBA,

At CBA, we strive to equip you with the best tools and resources to excel in commercial brokerage easily and efficiently. Together with our Board of Directors, we continuously refine our strategy to improve our services and ensure you get the best value at a reasonable cost.

Starting January 1, 2025, we will introduce a $10 per broker monthly dues increase in Washington. This adjustment allows us to offer two significant new benefits:

1. All-Inclusive Continuing Education

Starting January 2025, you will have unlimited access to CBA’s on-demand courses and live webinars as part of your dues. With over 50 clock hours of classes available, fulfilling your continuing education requirements for license renewals will be easier than ever. We will also keep expanding this library with new, updated content. Watch for more details later this year on how to access this benefit.

If your license renews before 2025, you can take advantage of 50% off all of CBA's on-demand classes on ExceedCE starting October 1, 2024, through the end of the year.

You can explore all our on-demand course offerings here.

2. Legislative Advocacy: Introducing CBAC

In 2025, we will launch the Commercial Brokers Advocacy Council of Washington (CBAC) in partnership with the Washington State Commercial Association of REALTORS® (WSCAR) to protect and advocate the interests of commercial brokers in Olympia. CBAC is a new, non-profit organization, whose sole purpose is representing your legislative needs and ensuring that commercial real estate brokers have a strong voice in policy decisions.

Why CBAC?

For the better part of 30 years, Washington's commercial brokers have entrusted their state legislative advocacy and lobbying needs and representation to WSCAR®, a commercial overlay board that has been part of Washington REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. Over the past decade, WSCAR’s membership structure has faced challenges, making it harder to represent the needs of commercial brokers fairly and effectively.

With over 4,000 members, CBA holds the largest concentration of commercial real estate professionals in the state. By partnering with WSCAR® and creating CBAC, which will be the state’s largest commercial brokerage advocacy organization, we can unify efforts and provide powerful advocacy tailored specifically to your needs.

As a CBA member, you’ll automatically become a CBAC member, ensuring strong representation for your business. We will allocate $5 of your monthly dues to fund this critical initiative. This will ensure that CBAC has the resources to advocate for commercial brokers and build strategic coalitions with other organizations across the real estate sector.

In the coming weeks, we’ll share more details about CBAC’s structure, governance, leadership, and future initiatives.

Why the Dues Increase?

We understand that dues increases are rarely welcome. However, they are necessary to fund our ongoing operations and these new, valuable benefits and to continue delivering the high level of service you expect. The additional dues will enable us to provide:

  • Unlimited Continuing Education, making it easier and more cost-effective to maintain your license.
  • Powerful Legislative Advocacy through CBAC, ensuring that your interests are represented in critical policy decisions affecting commercial real estate.

We are committed to making long-term decisions that benefit you, your business, and your clients. On behalf of the full CBA Board of Directors, we thank you for your continued membership and support as we grow and improve the CBA platform.
