Dear Residents -
Today is Flag Day and, while it is not a national holiday, many people acknowledge it by proudly displaying their American flags. June is also the awareness month for Alzheimer’s, Pride, PTSD, and Immigrant Heritage. In addition, we celebrate Father’s Day, Juneteenth and the first day of summer. Add in proms and graduations, and it certainly is a busy, fun-filled month.
This weekend is the Shamrock Shows Carnival on the Central Avenue Field in Pearl River. The Pearl River Park and Activity Committee is sponsoring the carnival and it is the primary fundraising event for Pearl River’s 4th of July Fireworks. So, stop by to show your support and enjoy some games, rides, food and fun at this family-friendly event.
To accommodate the carnival, on Saturday, the Pearl River Farmers Market will be held at the South William Street parking lot. But no need to worry, as the vendors will still be there with the same great selection of goodies – so why not stop by and pick up something sweet for your father, grandfather or even better, for yourself?
Speaking of the farmers market, several people have asked if the start time could be moved from 10 am to 9 am. So, we are taking a poll to see what a majority of you prefer for the hours of operation. Please click here for a short survey, and thank you in advance for your help.
Please note that the NYSDOT will be closing the Route 9W Sparkill Viaduct, between Valentine Avenue and Highland Avenue, to perform maintenance work this Saturday. For more detailed information and a map, see below.
Do not forget, early voting starts tomorrow. See below for the dates and times and remember, that every vote counts.
To all the dads everywhere, Happy Father's Day!
Regards –
