November 2024

Our Mission is to Serve and Equip our Churches to Fulfill the Great Commission

Did you know that it is the will of God for us to give thanks in everything?

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

As Christians we have so much to be thankful for; The greatest of which is God’s mercy. We deserve death and hell, but Jesus blesses us with eternal life through a relationship with Him. Because of this we should desire to serve Him and tell others the Good News!

Mark 10:45

For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.

If Jesus, God in flesh came to serve, who do we think we are if we are not willing to get our hands dirty and serve. He gave His life as a ransom for many. We must not keep this news to ourselves.

We have some great opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus. This month we are going to deliver backpacks to Kentucky and partner with some local churches there to meet needs and share Christ. Thanks to all who prepared the backpacks. Please pray for this mission trip, that God will be glorified and that lives would be changed.

Next month is Toys for Jesus. This is a great opportunity to serve in both Davie and Iredell Counties. Go to www.toysforJesus.org to sign up to serve. There are many ways to serve and you can see all your options on the website as well as listed below. One option is to sign-up individually or as a group for a "toy packing party". Your group could be a Sunday School class, a life group, senior group, or a youth group. There is much to do before the Toys are given out.

If you would like to serve as an encourager at Toys for Jesus, please contact Noel Williamson at (704) 380-5097 or nwilliamson@sybaptist.org. Encouragers have the opportunity to have a spiritual conversion about Jesus and pray with each guest.

There are many ways that you can be involved in Toys for Jesus. Please sign up on the website and get involved! I would like to thank everyone who has given, prayed for, and supported this ministry. At the SYBA we are so thankful for our volunteers and supporters!
