Good Afternoon Trevor,
It's week 18, and I'd have more time to write a newsletter if I wasn't chasing turkeys all over the place. This is a photo of the heritage turkeys earlier today. At the edge of my patio.
Each morning starts out with trying to trick them into staying close to home. We scatter corn at day-break in their field. They peck at it for a while as I sneak out over the fence and out of site. They like to follow me, so I have to be stealthy.
Then usually within the hour they are thinking of crossing the road, or visiting the house, or visiting the girls in the bakery. Being they can fly right over the fence, they are near impossible to contain. And if 1 goes, they all go.
Around here, Thanksgiving can't come soon enough.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, we have announced our offerings and the order form is live. Since Sunday, the heritage birds are over half sold out already so please place your reservation soon.
As for this week's share, it is week 18 of 22. The leaves are starting to change and within two weeks we expect a frost. Our winter season starts right after summer season ends. Please register today and eat well all winter.
