UConn and Qatar University Case Competition | |
Consider applying to participate in a case competition in collaboration with Qatar University! The presentation date is Saturday, November 16th from 8 AM - 12 PM EST (Storrs) and 4 PM - 8 PM AST (Doha).
The application deadline is Monday, October 14th, 2024 at 4:59 PM EST (Storrs) and 11:59 AST (Doha). Applications will be reviewed, and decisions will be communicated out on Friday, October 17th.

(Point72 is a global asset management firm with headquarters in NYC and Stamford) You will meet with HR leads and UConn alumni working at P72.
Attendance is limited - so sign up early and you must be committed to attend the whole day. To apply and be considered please do the following by Sunday, September 15th at 11:59pm:

Are you passionate about startups, investing, and innovation? Do you have a keen interest in venture capital and want to gain hands-on experience in the field? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are Hillside Ventures, the student-led venture capital group here at UConn. Hillside manages $1,000,000 to invest in real early-stage startups with the help of faculty and an alumni board. We are looking for students of any year/discipline who are driven, collaborative, and eager to learn. No prior experience in venture capital is required- just a strong interest and a willingness to dive in! As a member of our group, you will:

The application will be open from September 9th to September 30th. We will be hosting two recruiting workshops on September 10th from 7:15-8:45pm and September 12th 4:45-6:15pm in BUSN 215. During these workshops we will focus on recruitment preparation and venture capital fundamentals.

Applications are now open for the First-Year Women Werth Innovators program cohort!
We are looking for driven, creative, and curious students to join the upcoming cohort of the Werth Innovators program. Werth Innovators work on an impactful project during the academic year and beyond with ongoing opportunities and network growth. Community building activities and events take place beginning October 2024 and weekly group meetings take place during the academic year after selection. Successful participation leads to a $4k summer internship in 2025 evolving and executing your idea full time! As a Werth Innovator, you will have access to a network of successful entrepreneurs and leaders and join a unique community of students who are building an entrepreneurial mindset while executing their ideas!

Luisa Neubauer is a youth climate justice activist and lead organizer of the German “Fridays for Future” climate movement. For over five years now, Luisa and Fridays for Future have brought hundreds of thousands of people to the streets. In 2022 TIME Magazine included her among the “100Next” leaders.
In "Neubauer vs. Germany" she and others won a landmark constitutional court ruling against the German government (then led by Angela Merkel) in 2021, forcing the government to improve its climate law. She and others are now suing the (new) German government again. She has published three best-selling books on the climate crisis. One of them is available in English: Beginning to End the Climate Crisis. A History of Our Future, published by Brandeis University Press in 2023.
Her Ted Talks on climate action have been watched more than 4 million times. Luisa Neubauer is currently completing a Masters degree in Geography. She is the host of the award-winning Podcast “1,5 Degrees”. A Visiting Research Scholar at the Center for German and European Studies at Brandeis University this fall, she normally lives in Berlin.

Identify and define a social logistics problem in a community and propose an actionable business solution to address the problem. Social logistics involves applying logistics principles and methods to solve societal issues by considering human factors. The proposed solution should be relevant to the local community, outline the involved stakeholders, and demonstrate its alignment with one or more of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Teams are encouraged to identify any technological disruptions within the problem and/or illustrate the role of technology in their solution.
Prizes:
- $5,000 (first place team)
- $1,000 (second and third place teams)

The University Scholar Program is an opportunity for motivated and academically talented students to get more from their last three undergraduate semesters. Available to students from all of the University’s schools and colleges, the University Scholar Program allows students to design and pursue an in-depth research or creative project and to craft an individualized plan of study that supports their intellectual interests during their final three semesters.
Admission to this selective program is made on the basis of an application submitted during the first semester of a student’s junior year. While the application deadline is in November, students who intend to apply MUST submit a letter of intent by Monday, September 9.

The material you would like to review with us must be assigned by a current course in the School of Business. Upon registering for your appointment, you will be requested to provide the assignment guideline sheet and other necessary documents for the Lab staff to fully understand the scope of the task or project.
