The Finale
The last week of school. There were hugs and tears shed. Laughter and high fives. Overflowing bags of artwork and supplies, evidence of a year filled with learning and growth. And, in true MPH fashion, we went out having a lot of fun!

New Hire: Director of College Counseling
|
Manlius Pebble Hill School is pleased to announce that Patrick Lutz, formerly Assistant Director of Admissions at the University of Rochester, will join its executive staff as their new Director of College Counseling. Lutz will lead all aspects of the school’s college counseling process and programming.
“We’re beyond excited for this next chapter under Patrick’s leadership,” said Head of School Jim Foley. “The MPH College Counseling program distinguishes itself by an extraordinary level of individual support for each student’s unique journey, as is only befitting our storied history as CNY’s leading college preparatory school. I am looking forward to watching Patrick bring his own distinct creativity and passion to this tradition of excellence.”
Lutz brings 12 years of higher education experience from the University of Rochester to MPH, where he oversaw the application review process, recruited first-year students, developed marketing to attract talented scholars to programs, and managed work study and tour guide students.
“I’m thrilled to be welcoming Patrick to the MPH leadership team,” said Head of Upper School Fred Montas. “His years in higher education enrollment and his direct work with students has prepared him for navigating the ever-changing landscape of college admissions. I am confident in Patrick’s keen understanding of what colleges are looking for and his ability to guide students and families to the right fit placement.”
Lutz will begin his new appointment in July, where he will provide strategies, advice, support, and guidance to students and their families throughout the college application process and in making the best individualized choice for college. In addition to building strong relationships, Lutz will track trends in the admissions and college counseling fields and conduct educational outreach programming for both students and parents.
“I'm honored to be joining the MPH community as its next Director of College Counseling,” Lutz shared. “I'm impressed by MPH's deep and abiding commitment to independent learning and fostering the individual interests of each student.” He adds, “I'm a firm believer in encouraging students to find the best school for them rather than trying to simply get into the best school that they can, and I am excited to begin building relationships with the scholars at MPH to help them navigate this exciting process.”

Reminder from Nurse Christine: Schedule Physicals Now
|
Please schedule your student’s yearly physical and necessary vaccinations now to avoid a mad dash in August and September. New students in all grade levels, and current students who will be entering Grades K, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, and 11, are required by New York state to have a physical on file in the Health Office. Athletes need an exam on file that is within 12 months of the start of the season. There are also specific vaccinations required for Grades K, 6, 7, and 12. Please communicate with your child’s health care provider or the school nurse, Christine Civello, if you have any questions about what is due or whether your child will need a physical. Thank you!
