Construction Activities

Retaining Wall Construction

As early as 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 11, contractors are expected to continue pouring concrete for the new retaining wall being constructed along the northbound

SR-55 McFadden Avenue off-ramp.

Crews will be accessing the site from the northbound off-ramp, which will remain open during the operation.

Edinger Avenue Bridge

At the Edinger Avenue bridge, contractors are currently drilling piles at the bridge columns as part of the reconstruction process. This work is expected to continue into early July.

About the Project

OCTA, in cooperation with Caltrans, is improving 4 miles of SR-55 between I-405 and I-5. The project will improve traffic flow and reduce travel time by adding one regular lane and one carpool lane in each direction. Also, the project will add merge lanes between several interchanges and stripe carpool lanes for continuous access, augmenting safety on the freeway by making merging easier. These enhancements are expected to create a better, smoother driving experience for motorists.
