FALL is in the Air!

The first day of fall is literally around the corner – it’s this Sunday, September 22nd!

Some popular fall activities include enjoying sweater weather, cozying up by a fire, apple picking, Halloween, and so much more. Good Housekeeping’s “61 Best Fall Activities to Keep You Busy All Autumn Long” and Familius’s “21 Classic Fall Activities for Families” provide detailed lists of fun fall activities enjoyable for everyone. For a list of festivals to visit, check out “The 19 Top Fall Festivals in the U.S. for 2024,” from U.S. News.

Leaf Peeping

One of the things people most enjoy about autumn is the beautiful changing colors of the leaves. While New England is famous for its fall foliage (Stowe, VT, is even known as "Fall’s Color Capital"), you can discover brilliant autumn colors throughout the country. From the Great Smoky Mountains in North Carolina/Tennessee and Maine’s Acadia National Park to Sequoia National Park in California and Alaska’s Denali National Park, there are breathtaking displays to be found. For where to go and the best times to see the most vibrant colors, check our Forbes Home’s “15 Best States for Seeing All the Fall Foliage.” For additional recommendations, Travel + Leisure’s “22 Best Places to See Fall Foliage in the United States” gives you more prime leaf-peeping destinations, or head over to TripSavvy for their State-by-State Guide to Fall Colors.

Pumpkin Spice – Yay or Nay?

Are you excited for pumpkin spice season? Starbucks’ pumpkin spice latte (PSL) has caused great debate since its introduction 21 years ago. Whether you love it or hate it, the seasonal drink has spawned all things pumpkin spice, from candles and cookies to beer and cereal. Heck, it even has its own X (formerly known as Twitter) account, @TheRealPSL!

According to USA Today, retail spending on pumpkin products from August 2023 to July 2024 reached $816.9 million, a slight decline from last year. Read the article in its entirety for more pumpkin-related information, like additional products and statistics, and check out AP News to learn about the pumpkin spice latte as a sensory experience.

No matter where you will be headed this fall – apple picking, taking in a festival, a fall vacation to see the best colors, or just to your local coffee shop for a PSL – make sure to take us with you. All of our tours can be enjoyed onsite or remotely.
