QUEEN CREEK BECOMES A DESTINATION MARKETING ORGANIZATION (DMO)

With the approval of Resolution 1607-24 on Aug. 7, the necessary paperwork was filed with the Arizona Office of Tourism (AOT) designating the Town as the official    Destination Marketing Organization (DMO).

The Town has identified Agritainment and Destination Tourism as a targeted sector in the Economic Development Strategic Plan, and over the past 10 years has partnered with Visit Mesa, who served as the designated DMO. Now the Town is developing a Queen Creek specific tourism initiative and has designated the Town as the Town’s DMO. This is a strategic step towards enhancing tourism and economic development in Queen Creek, and will allow staff to focus on coordinated marketing efforts and partnerships to increase its appeal as a travel destination and reap the benefits of a vibrant tourism industry. Becoming a designated DMO within the State of Arizona also provides the Town the benefit of exclusive partnership and grant opportunities with the AOT. This partnership will provide opportunities to promote local tourism, support local businesses, and generate local tax revenue.
