2024 Agriculture Program Tours | |
The Arizona FFA Foundation offered a group of supporters an opportunity to visit four agriculture science programs in the east valley area. Agriculture Science Programs are all very different and unique. The programs may be a single teacher program or multiple teachers. The course offerings can also be different at each school. Other offerings in some programs include the chance for students to gain college and science credits. On November 20th we visited Chandler High School, Mesquite High School, Gilbert High School and Highland High School. The day included visiting not only the classroom but land labs of different size and design, a meat processing lab, greenhouses, gardens, school enhancement areas, computer labs and welding shops.
We are very grateful to the teachers and students that provided the tours, shared how unique each program was designed and how their students engage in FFA events and contests. We learned about some of the different Supervised Agriculture Experiences the students develop. The attendees included representatives from the veterinary, business and construction industries. We also had representation from Arizona State University, Morrison School of Agribusiness and the University of Arizona, Agriculture Education, Technology and Innovation Department.
Thank you to those that joined us for the day and those that showcased the programs!
