Dear Members,

Recently, we submitted a request to the National Credit Union Administration (“NCUA”) to officially change the legal name of our credit union from Akron Fire and Police Credit Union to National Police Federal Credit Union. We have now received word that our request has been granted, and we will officially begin using our new name on January 1, 2025.

This decision was reached after careful consideration of the progress we have made to establish a national presence over the last ten years.

During the lead up to this moment, we have added thousands of new members and over 400 departments, employment groups, and associations. We now serve members and their families in all 50 states. It is only fitting that we embrace a name and an identity that reflects who we are and how far we’ve come.

Our merger with Akron Fire and Police Credit Union has also played a significant role in establishing our new name. The combination of our credit unions not only added a presence in Ohio, but it also expanded our law enforcement membership and introduced us to firefighters.

We have come to the understanding that we will best serve our existing members and potential members by being true to our police focus and expertise while, at the same time, creating a start-up marketing division for firefighters just like we did 10 years ago for National Police Credit Union in our nationwide outreach to police officers. We look forward to collaborating with firefighters and your families to create a top notch, nationwide firefighter focused organization!

Thank you for your business and stay tuned for updates and additional announcements. In the meantime, visit our website to review more details.

Sincerely,

Scott Arney
