Over $1.6M in Grants Awarded |
The Sudbury Foundation has awarded over $1,645,000 in grant funding so far this year. We've wrapped up our largest grant programs including our Children, Youth & Family grants as well as our Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion and Hunger Relief grants. We have one last round of Sudbury Program grants to award. You can see the most recent press release here and a list of all the most recent grants awarded here.
We are excited to be able to continue our Farm & Local Food grant funding this year. This is an invitation program that provides multi-year general operating support to nonprofits that support farmers running small-to-mid-sized farms, engaged in food waste and recovery, and advocate for food policy.

This year we added World Farmers as a new organization into the portfolio. World Farmers is located in Lancaster, MA and works with predominantly immigrant and refugee farmers. They support small-scale farmers in agricultural production, marketing, and connecting culturally relevant produce to viable markets and communities. World Farmers provides mentoring, training, and hands-on assistance when working with each farmer to build their capacity to operate successful enterprises, while cultivating a climate of mentorship where farmers can learn from each other.

Atkinson Scholarship Award to Increase | |
We are delighted to announce that the scholarship award, starting with the 2025-2026 school year, will increase from $5,000 to $7,500 per year, for a total of $30,000 over four years!
The Atkinson Scholarship Program is designed to recognize and assist local students with financial need, academic promise and the capacity to make a meaningful contribution to society.
Established in 1995, the Atkinson Scholarship Program has provided about 15 qualified high school seniors up to $5,000 annually, with an option to reapply each year of their undergraduate academic career. Since its inception, we have awarded over $8,000,000 in scholarships to 420 students. Starting with the 2025-2026 school year, the scholarship amount will increase from $5,000 to $7,500 annually.
Applications for the 2025-26 school year will open in November 2024. The online application will be available on our website.

Sudbury Doing Good Fair!
Saturday, November 2, 11:00 am to 2:00 pm
Curtis Middle School
Meet the people behind Sudbury's nonprofits, community groups, and Town departments who are committed to “doing good” in Sudbury and beyond, making life better for all.
Join us at the Sudbury Doing Good Fair to learn more about local organizations - their mission, programs, services, membership options and volunteer opportunities. They range from environmental protection to the arts, from historical preservation to social justice, from food pantries to gardening.
Event Chair Jean Nam explains, “We are excited to offer this community fair again! It’s heartwarming to learn about the incredible work being done right here in our community. This is a wonderful chance for Sudbury residents to learn about meaningful volunteer opportunities, to connect with others with shared interests, and to discover the many services available.”
Learn more about what these wonderful groups are up to and how you (and your whole family) can get involved! The Sudbury Doing Good Fair will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 11 am - 2 pm at Curtis Middle School, 22 Pratt's Mill Road, Sudbury. Over 30 organizations are expected to be on hand to share their good works. There will be activities, community service opportunities, and giveaways. Click here for a list of participating organizations.
This free event is sponsored by Sudbury Doing Good, an initiative of the Sudbury Foundation and the Goodnow Library. For more information, visit @SudburyDoingGood on Facebook or contact nam@sudburyfoundation.org.
