Fauquier Community Theatre presents Les Miserables School Edition June 27 - 30 in Warrenton, VA. The cast of 40 bring the Les Mis characters and beloved songs to life on the FCT stage!

Jean Valjean played by JD Bernhardt.

Valjean’s capacity for change is his greatest asset throughout the story. The key to Valjean's character is his great humanity and compassion.

Les Misérables School Edition - Winner of over 100 international awards and seen by over 70 million, this musical phenomenon is an epic tale of passion and redemption in the throes of revolution. Les Misérables is the world’s longest running musical — a true modern classic based on Victor Hugo’s novel and featuring one of the most memorable scores of all time. The multi-award-winning Les Misérables is as groundbreaking today as it was when it first premiered in London in 1985.

Inspector Javert (Carson Lamb).

Javert is the inspector who serves as antagonist to Jean Valjean. Javert is unswerving in his belief that men cannot change for the better.

In nineteenth-century France, Jean Valjean is released from years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment. He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, initiating a lifelong struggle for redemption as he is relentlessly pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. Finally, during the Paris student uprising of 1832, Javert must confront his ideals after Valjean spares his life and saves that of the student revolutionary who has captured the heart of Valjean’s adopted daughter.

Fantine (Kara Pristas).

Fantine is a brave woman defeated by life who clings to her dignity and is sustained by her love for her daughter, sacrificing everything for the young Cosette.

Monsieur Thénardier (Riley Gelling), and Madame Thénardier (Alexis Cottrell) with Young Cosette (Harper O'Meara). The Thénardiers are greedy, selfish, and conniving. They are cruel to the young Cosette.

Marius Pontmercy (Porter Bertman) and Éponine (Margaret Reeves).

Marius is impulsive, passionate, willful, and headstrong. Éponine is streetwise and tough but also sensitive and lonely. She is hopelessly in love with Marius, knowing that he will never love her.

A cast of 40 are in this production directed by Jeff and Doray Walker. Audiences are sure to enjoy the immense talent and passion these youth bring to their roles. "The cast is a remarkable group to work with and we are pleased to present them to audiences for these performances." - The Walkers

Cosette (Elizabeth Taubken) with Jean Valjean (JD Bernhardt).

Cosette is Fantine’s strong-willed, loving daughter. She is intelligent, inquiring, and personable.

Rehearsal photo: Enjolras (Cody Yeatman) leads the insurrection at the barricade.

Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat and all of your favorite Dr. Seuss characters spring to life onstage in Seussical JR., a fantastical musical extravaganza from Tony-winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty.

Transporting audiences from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus, the Cat in the Hat narrates the story of Horton the Elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos.

Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must also guard an abandoned egg that’s been left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant!

Space is limited and registrations fill quickly. Come celebrate summer with Fauquier Community Theatre's musical theatre youth programs!

The production is by special arrangement with Music Theater International.

(Noting here that the Seussical JR. Summer Camp on July 29 - August 4 reached capacity quickly and had many on the waiting list. That is why the additional Seussical JR. summer camp was added.)
