Please reference the email sent on 12/4 from Dr. Tyler. Keep in mind, school is always in operation unless you receive a message or public notification.

Asbury Woods Winter Event

NEW DATE! Dec. 10th


Join EDS families for Winter Wonderland at Asbury Woods on Tuesday, Dec. 10th from 5-7pm. Stroll the paths, view the lights, and indulge in some hot chocolate at this outdoor event. There will be live entertainment, glitter tattoos and a photo booth. There is no cost to participate and no RSVP required. A reminder that the paths do get dark at night - please stay with your kids! 

The Trading Post Holiday Shop Dec. 11th, 12th & 13th


Parent Group has curated a winter shopping experience for your student(s) to take place on Wednesday, Dec. 11th thru Friday, Dec. 13th. Thanks to Rashi Dev-Ochs for chairing! Parent volunteers, EDS “Buddies“ and Student Council will be on hand to help with gift selection, budgeting, and wrapping. Please check your students backpacks for shopping lists and payment information. If you are interested in volunteering, sign up HERE.

Yule Ball | Dec. 19th



Middle School students are invited to attend the annual Yule Ball on Thur., Dec. 19th from 6pm - 8:30pm. The cost is $15 for dinner & dancing. Students are to dress-up for this festive event.

EDS is excited for our middle school students (Grades 5-8) to join in the festive tradition of Kris Kringle (KK)!

  • Secret gifts (~$1-3) will be exchanged Mon.-Thur.
  • A final gift (~$15-20) will be given on Friday.

The EDS Playhouse has announced the spring musical, "Shrek, Jr."! Performances will take place on Fri., March 28th & Sat. March 29th, 2025.


AUDITION PACKETS | Dec. 9th


“Shrek Jr” Audition Packets will be ready to pick up on Dec. 9th. These will have your audition form and upcoming audition, parent meeting, & performance dates.


CHOREOGRPHY SESSIONS

Dec. 16th & Dec. 17th


OPTIONAL Choreography Session with Mrs. Griffith will take place on Dec. 16th & Dec. 17th from 3:30-4pm. Students may choose ONE day, no need to attend both. *Meet in the Music Room. 


READ THROUGH | Dec. 20th


A Script Read-Through with Mrs. Lachowski will take place on Dec. 20th. This will take place during school for those interested in getting to know the script, characters, and songs better.



AUDITIONS | Jan. 7th & 8th


On Tues., Jan. 7th & Wed., Jan. 8th, EDS Playhouse auditions will take place in the Burnside Performing Arts Studio from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. for students in Grades 3 - 8. Signups will be posted to request your time slot. Grade 2 is welcome to audition during your class time with Mrs. Lachowski.


FIRST REHEARSAL | Jan. 14th

PARENT MEETING | Jan. 15th


The EDS Playhouse production team will hold a Mandatory Cast and Parent Meeting on Wed., Jan. 15th at 3:30 pm in the Kern Dining Room. This is a mandatory meeting for all participating families.

Erie Day School offers a unique opportunity for families to etch their legacy into the institution's history by purchasing a leaf for our Recognition Tree. Crafted by local artist Adam Stempka of Stempka Designs, this custom piece invites families to honor or remember a student, teacher, philanthropist, or special person or family with a laser-engraved birch leaf. The tree is located on the exterior wall at the Griffith Lobby entrance patio.
