July’s full “Buck Moon” arrives at 6:17 am on the 21st, so use July 22nd to do your crystal cleaning. For those who can’t seem to find the time to do a monthly crystal cleanse, this month would be perfect to do this powerful important cleanse as it is half way into our 2024 energy field and with all the Sirius Gateway vibrations being so prevalent.

We’ve already mentioned the annual Sirius Gateway occurring the first week of this month, but its importance is worth elaborating. Whether you're young or old, into metaphysical properties or not, and especially if you are a Starseed person, this conjunction between our sun and the star Sirius will affect your vibrational field and energy level. Not only will this conjunction heighten energy, but it also provides a perfect portal to access a higher frequency energy, assist in transformations and aid in spiritual advancement. If you’re one who believes we are on this earthly journey to learn lessons then this would be the time to check in with your guides, guardian angels or higher self and gather any important messages to help with your growth and progression.

"Us being deemed [a] culturally significant space in Austin, we're getting a little bit of additional funding in terms of settling into the new space," Kallstrom said.

The International Gem Society published this list of the twelve foundation stones as the one they believe is the most accurate and correct version: garnet, amethyst, jasper, diamond, emerald, agate, turquoise, carnelian, chrysolite (peridot), beryl, topaz, and ruby.
Each article in this series will cover the geological properties, historical uses, and metaphysical qualities of one foundation stone. This month, it’s all about the fifth foundation stone, onyx.
Onyx: Onyx is a banded form of chalcedony with flat, parallel layers of different colors. Chalcedony is a microcrystalline form of quartz, which means that it is made of microscopic crystals that can only be seen via magnification.

July: Air Pollutants and Change of Season; what to do?
Air pollution has become a serious global health epidemic. About 80% of people live in areas of the world where air pollution exceeds the World Health Organization’s air-quality guidelines. This exposure is associated with higher rates of cardiovascular and respiratory illnesses and death. New studies link pollution to glucose intolerance, along with asthmatic mothers delivering preterm babies, and damage to blood vessels in individuals as young as 23! While we can’t avoid all air pollution, we can help protect ourselves from its damaging effects. ASTROLOGY OVERVIEW FOR JULY, 2024.
As I sit down to look at the astrology for the month ahead, I almost can’t believe it’s July already! July is one of the most magical months of the year as we experience the Sirius Gateway. The Sirius Gateway happens once a year during the first week of July and is when our Sun conjuncts the star, Sirius. Many ancient cultures revered Sirius, as it was believed to be our Spiritual Sun. As our Sun and our Spiritual Sun come together, waves of high-frequency energy flow through the cosmic airways and into our being, recharging our spiritual and physical bodies.

Featured Fossil: Red Agatized Horn Coral |
|
Red Agatized Horn Coral is a fossil belonging to an extinct group of Rugosa, or “wrinkled” corals. This particular horn coral appeared about 200 million years ago. These ancient coral reefs now exist 9,000 feet up in the Utah mountains. Red Coral is primarily composed of Calcium Carbonate and because of this, some refer to it as an organic healer gemstone. Horn Coral brings forth the energy of confidence and courage and can be used to bring balance to the root and sacral chakras. Horn coral would grow within a colony and form single horns reaching nearly three feet in length.
They are sometimes referred to as dragon tooth coral and have fairy realm energy; making them an ideal tool for energy work or a unique addition to your fossil collection. May the dragon energy be at your side to protect you and the fairy energy lift your spirits while adding a touch of magic to your next adventure.

Featured Agate: Botswana Agate |
|
This agate is aptly named as it comes from Botswana, specifically the Bobonong Subdistrict of the Central District. Botswana has one of the largest diamond mining and manufacturing industries in the world, making mining and the export of minerals a major part of their GDP. We have been told that Rough Botswana Agate is difficult to find now due to laws regulating the export of raw materials. Luckily we acquired some before these laws went into place! We have two different bins of Botswana Agate in the Rock Depot at Nature's Treasures: tumbled material and natural rough material. Usually a specific range of white, lilac, and almost black, it has well-developed banding and a hardness of 7, making it good for cabbing, face polishes and tumbling. Although Botswana Agate was first introduced to the market in 1971, Agates in general have been used throughout recorded history to make tools and adornments. Today it is a stone associated with the home and hearth, said to balance energies within and protect the home. |

Ashley is an Austin native who now lives just outside the city, where she enjoys spending her time "in the dirt" gardening. Whether she is with her sweet little dachshund, Rascal, or tending to her year round vegetable garden, her peace comes from being in nature. When she is at work, Ashley splits her time at Nature's Treasures between the Front Counter helping customers and in the back office as an admin for our General Manager. She is looking forward to helping establish a community garden at our new location after our big move!
