WEEKLY ISSUE

FROM THE COLORADO SPRINGS SCHOOL

October 11, 2024

Dear Kodiak Community,

I hope this newsletter finds you well as we approach the end of another productive week at The Colorado Springs School and we wrap up the first quarter of the year. I'd like to take a moment to share some important updates with you all.

Staffing Updates

It is with mixed emotions that I announce that Anastasia Romero, School Counselor, will be leaving The Colorado Springs School at the end of this month. We are grateful for Mrs. Romero’s dedicated service to our students and their mental health and wish her the very best in future endeavors. View Mrs. Romero's letter to CSS families. The programs that informed our community about Suicide Awareness and Anti-Bullying were both national initiatives brought to CSS thanks to her leadership. We will keep you informed about our plans to fill this crucial role.

In Lower School, we will be adding Ms. Christina Voreadis to our teaching faculty in 1st grade on Monday, October 14. Ms. Ingrid Mass will transition to teaching themes in both 1st and 4th grade. We are excited to make this change to enhance the educational experience for children in both grade levels.

ACIS Leadership Conference

This week, our Leadership Team and members of the Board of Trustees are attending the ACIS (Association of Colorado Independent Schools) conference. This valuable opportunity allows us to connect with other educational leaders, share best practices, and bring fresh ideas back to CSS to enhance our students' learning experience.

As always, we remain committed to providing the highest quality education and support for our students. Thank you for your continued partnership in this mission.

Join Our Community of Belonging Committee

Our newly formed Community of Belonging Committee aims to ensure that past, current, and prospective students, families, faculty, and staff feel welcome on our campus. Below, learn more about their efforts and how you can help/join.

Matchwits Save the Date: Nov. 4

Congratulations to our Upper School Matchwits Team for scoring high in their first competition in Hanover earlier this week. We are so proud of them and how they worked together as a team! Save the Date for November 4, when CSS hosts the regional competition on campus after school. We invite you to come out and support of Kodiaks.

Have a wonderful weekend!
