DISCOVER CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK
Thank you to all for helping us with a successful Discover Catholic Schools Week! Your dedication to the St. David community will continue to help us grow and thrive. Our students represented us well at Mass by reading, altar serving, bringing up the gifts, or simply being present. It was wonderful to share our school community with the parish.
The Door Decorating contest was a hit. Our judges had such a difficult time with each of the doors bringing their own strength. Preschool's door was just so adorable with their handprints. Kinder/1st's door had the bedazzled feathers and the lights! 2nd and 3rd grade doors had handprints for feathers and their faith-filled turkey's silver necklace. 4th grade shared why Thanksgiving was important to them and made some of our judges cry with how sweet they were. 5th grade included everyone's favorite part of the Thanksgiving table. 6th grade won the hearts of graphic designers with their minimalist design. 7th grade's thankful tree was amazing with the inclusion of owls and squirrels. 8th grade's design looked professionally done!
Families came in to enjoy some pastries and coffee with our PTG members. It was so nice to touch base with some of our new and preschool families! Thank you to the PTG officers for sponsoring the pastries and coffee.
Our teachers felt well-loved and appreciated with all the love from the students. A special thank you to Nadir Khourchech and Sala Thai for sponsoring the lunch for the teachers. The Khourchech Family went above and beyond in making sure each St. David faculty member was well-fed and accommodated all dietary needs. Thank you for sharing your appreciation!
We were able to fill up the barrel for the Contra Costa Food Bank with all the generous donations from the students and families. We are still accepting donations until Wednesday, November 27. The diapers from our Diaper Drive went to an organization that assist women and children in new starts.
St. David School alumni shared their gratitude for time at St. David. They were grateful for a multitude of things, especially our wonderful teachers. The video has been posted to Instagram.
The St. David School community came together to make our first schoolwide Snacksgiving a success. We spent the rainy Friday afternoon in communion with our Faith Families disguising turkeys, sharing Thanksgiving traditions, and snacking. Preschool had their Friendsgiving with classmates and their families.
You all showed us just how the St. David School community comes together to celebrate the faith, knowledge, and service that happens at our school.
