Dear St. David Families,

As we wrap up a joyful Discover Catholic Schools Week, we want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible spirit of our community. From welcoming prospective families to celebrating the unique blessings of Catholic education, the week was a resounding success. Thank you for your support in showcasing all that makes our school special!

The transition to Brightwheel continues to be smooth. This will help us simplify processes and payments. Please make sure to complete your account sign-ups. Payments will no longer be accepted on the Curacubby platform. First invoices on Brightwheel will go out on December 1st.

As we approach Thanskgiving, we are reminded of the many blessings we share as a school family. This season invites us to embrace gratitude--for our faith, our loved ones, and the opportunity to grow together in Christ. It has been beautiful to witness our your Bears practicing faith in action by sharing food with those who forgot their snack or comforting a friend who fell while playing. Let us take time to reflect on God's goodness and share His love with others.

We are grateful for all of you who continue to spread the good word about our St. David, where faith and knowledge meet, through word of mouth or generosity of your time. Your service and dedication to the school community are witnessed not just by us, but our young Bears.

Wishing you and your family a blessed Thanksgiving filled with peace, joy, and gratitude.

Yours in faith,

Mr. Swanson & Ms. Medrano

NOTES FROM THE OFFICE

Billing Platform Update

We’re transitioning from Curacubby to Brightwheel for tuition and extended care billing, as Curacubby will soon shut down their operations. As of November 20th, Curacubby has stopped taking payments. It is important that you set up your Brightwheel account.

An email has been setup with instructions on setting up your new Brightwheel account (or connecting your student with your existing account) last week. We will send constant reminders through Brightwheel and through email to setup up your account. This new platform offers a more streamlined experience for payment and Willows attendance. Thank you for your cooperation during this transition!

We have started using Brightwheel to take attendance at Willows on November 18th. You will see a separate invoice for Willows for November 1st-15th in your Brightwheel account.

Letters and invoices have gone home with your student on Friday. Any payments made (and received) recorded through Curacubby will be on those statements. Please make sure to reach out if there are any questions about your statements.

Here is a video to show you how to sign up with Brightwheel.

DISCOVER CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK

Thank you to all for helping us with a successful Discover Catholic Schools Week! Your dedication to the St. David community will continue to help us grow and thrive. Our students represented us well at Mass by reading, altar serving, bringing up the gifts, or simply being present. It was wonderful to share our school community with the parish.

The Door Decorating contest was a hit. Our judges had such a difficult time with each of the doors bringing their own strength. Preschool's door was just so adorable with their handprints. Kinder/1st's door had the bedazzled feathers and the lights! 2nd and 3rd grade doors had handprints for feathers and their faith-filled turkey's silver necklace. 4th grade shared why Thanksgiving was important to them and made some of our judges cry with how sweet they were. 5th grade included everyone's favorite part of the Thanksgiving table. 6th grade won the hearts of graphic designers with their minimalist design. 7th grade's thankful tree was amazing with the inclusion of owls and squirrels. 8th grade's design looked professionally done!

Families came in to enjoy some pastries and coffee with our PTG members. It was so nice to touch base with some of our new and preschool families! Thank you to the PTG officers for sponsoring the pastries and coffee.

Our teachers felt well-loved and appreciated with all the love from the students. A special thank you to Nadir Khourchech and Sala Thai for sponsoring the lunch for the teachers. The Khourchech Family went above and beyond in making sure each St. David faculty member was well-fed and accommodated all dietary needs. Thank you for sharing your appreciation!

We were able to fill up the barrel for the Contra Costa Food Bank with all the generous donations from the students and families. We are still accepting donations until Wednesday, November 27. The diapers from our Diaper Drive went to an organization that assist women and children in new starts.

St. David School alumni shared their gratitude for time at St. David. They were grateful for a multitude of things, especially our wonderful teachers. The video has been posted to Instagram.

The St. David School community came together to make our first schoolwide Snacksgiving a success. We spent the rainy Friday afternoon in communion with our Faith Families disguising turkeys, sharing Thanksgiving traditions, and snacking. Preschool had their Friendsgiving with classmates and their families.

You all showed us just how the St. David School community comes together to celebrate the faith, knowledge, and service that happens at our school.

3-MINUTE RETREAT- Shared Meals

Take a moment to reflect on the power of shared meals and the connection they bring. This week's 3-minute reterat from Loyola Press invites us to pause and consider how gathering around the table fosters community, gratitude, and love.
