I Thank God for You

Philippians 1:3-11

I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making request with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now; being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: even as it is meet for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my grace. For God is my record, how greatly I long after you all in the bowels of Jesus Christ. And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; that ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; being filled with the fruits of righteousness, which are by Jesus Christ, unto the glory and praise of God.

The Apostle Paul opens his epistle to the Church at Philippi with an expression of gratitude for those in the Faith. It is marvelous to watch those that are sincere in their walk of faith embrace both the joy and burden of service to the Body of Christ. That service is not recognized or at least acknowledged enough, not as a stroke to one’s ego, but rather as encouragement to remain faithful as stated in verse ten of this passage.

I personally so appreciate the work each of you offer, driven by your love Christ. People celebrate today for most everything, and yet the most important service to man (the sharing of the gospel) is not. Whatever your role in the Body of Christ, I take this time to “Thank You.” Janitors for the buildings and spaces of worship, thank you, Christians educators - instructor/facilitators, thank you, ministers of music (players of instruments, voices), thank you, door keepers/greeters/ushers, thank you, pastors/preachers/ministers, thank you, mentors/committee members, thank you, regular attendees (in person, virtual), thank you, prayer warriors, thank you. From the least to least, thank you to the Glory and Praise of God!

Prayer

Lord, for your servants, I pray that encouragement and inspiration is realized for each of them. May they know by Your Spirit that their labor is not in vain. I pray that because of their faithfulness toward you someone is saved.
