As Thanksgiving is drawing near, the end of the semester is in sight. Here, you can find resources to help your student prepare for finals, the schedule for the rest of the semester, the final exam schedule, payment plan information, and more! From the Assumption community, we hope you have a happy and blessed Thanksgiving.

Finals are coming up fast–here are some key resources for students. At the Academic Support Center, students can make an appointment with a peer tutor for help

with academic content and paper writing. The Emmanuel D’Alzon Library is open 7 days a week and offers students mentoring, services for help completing their projects, space to study, and a large collection of materials. Have your student reach out to Student Accessibility Services for questions about academic accommodations.

Assumption University Launches Civic Friendship Scholars Program! This unique scholarship and leadership initiative is designed to cultivate students who are dedicated to fostering mutual respect and constructive dialogue rooted in a shared commitment to the common good. Applications for the inaugural cohort of Civic Friendship Scholars will open on December 15, 2024, for students entering the Fall 2025 semester. Did you know? Assumption offers a Monthly Payment Plan for each semester (Fall and Spring). It is fast and easy to enroll through the Student Account Center located in the student portal or Authorized party online account access which is available 24/7. For questions pertaining to enrolling in a payment plan, please call Nelnet at 800-609-8056.

Is your student thinking about pursuing their master's? Assumption offers a graduate studies discount for alumni*. Assumption alumni can receive a 10 percent tuition discount on graduate programs at Assumption. Reach out to graduate admissions for more information!

What is one of your favorite things about your job/role? Being part of a supportive, close-knit community that genuinely cares about each student’s success. I love having the opportunity to help students navigate financial challenges, allowing them to focus on their education and growth. It’s incredibly fulfilling to play a part in helping students achieve their goals and to be a resource they can rely on throughout their academic journey.
What do you wish more parents (or students) knew about the university experience and services offered? As a parent of two Assumption graduates, I want to share that an education at Assumption is more than just a series of classes—it’s a journey where students become thoughtful, compassionate, and purposeful individuals. While academic success is important, nurturing the whole person in mind, body, and spirit is also central to the Assumption experience. From financial aid advising to academic support, our services are designed to remove obstacles so students can fully engage in this transformative journey. We’re not just helping students earn degrees; we’re helping them grow into future leaders and ethical citizens ready to make a meaningful impact on the world.
What is your favorite Thanksgiving side dish? My favorite Thanksgiving dish? Dressing! Add a scoop of yams and a dollop of cranberry sauce, and we’re talking next-level deliciousness.
