OUTREACH

St. Martin’s will collect new scarves, hats, socks, and underwear until November 31st. Only new items, please. These items are for Valley Brook Village, housing for veterans. There are about 115 residents, mostly men, with about 8 women.

The Food Bank is in great need of food items, paper goods, and toiletries for our neighbors in Somerset County. We especially want to focus on personal items and cleaning products, such as toothpaste, feminine products, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. Cash and checks are also greatly appreciated. There’s always a container on the stairs leading up to the choir loft.

St. Martin’s is collecting styrofoam. It will go to a business in Somerville which makes it into molding for cruise ships.

If you have any questions, please get in touch with Kathy Shanklin.

HOW TO BECOME A MEMBER OF THE EPISCOPAL CHURCH

You are always welcome to worship at St Martin's and participate in service and fellowship activities regardless of your membership status. We are thrilled to have you in our community. But sometimes people want to go deeper and become a full member of St Martin's and the Episcopal Church. One becomes a full member through the Sacrament of Confirmation- or if you have already been confirmed in a church with apostolic succession (Roman Catholic, Orthodox, or ELCA), by the rite of Reception into the Episcopal Church with the Laying on of Hands by the Bishop. Confirmation and Reception by the Bishop makes you a member of the Episcopal Church and allows you to serve on the Vestry (which is the lay leadership board for the parish in the Episcopal Church.)

Please ask Father Rob for more information.
